Legg Mason & Co (UK) Ltd., London, Great Britain, notified Pfeiffer
Vacuum on September 21, 2009 pursuant to article 21 section 1 WpHG
("German Securities Trading Act") that the percentage of voting
rights of their subsidiary Royce & Associates, LLC, New York, USA, in
the company exceeded the threshold of 3 % on 22 May 2009 and
currently amounts to 3.16 % (283,660 voting rights). These voting
rights of 3.16 % are attributed to Royce & Associates, LLC, New York,
USA pursuant to article 22 section 1 sentence 1 nr. 6 WpHG.
