LLC to increase their holding
Publication pursuant to §26 sect.1 WpHG (the German Securities

Legg Mason & Co (UK) Ltd., London, Great Britain, notified Pfeiffer
Vacuum on October 28, 2009 pursuant to article 21 section 1 WpHG
("German Securities Trading Act") that the percentage of voting
rights of their subsidiary Royce & Associates, LLC, New York, USA, in
the company exceeded the threshold of 5 % on October 23, 2009 and
currently amounts to 5.05 % (453,395 voting rights). These voting
rights of 5,05 % are attributed to Royce & Associates, LLC, New York,
USA pursuant to article 22 section 1 sentence 1 nr. 6 WpHG.
