New Major Order for Digital Identification Solutions:
NASA Selects EDIsecure(TM) Personalization Systems for System-Wide
Implementation of FIPS 201 Compliant Cards
Piedmont, SC/USA, Stuttgart/Germany, September 12, 2008 Digital
Identification Solutions, a global leader in providing ID card and high
security identification solutions, announces that the National Aeronautics
and Space Administration (NASA) has selected its EDIsecure(TM) XID Retransfer
Printers system-wide to produce FIPS 201 compliant PIV II cards. The
EDIsecure(TM) XID Card Printer was the first on the GSA Approved Products List
for FIPS 201 compliance in August 2006.
The FIPS 201 standard was mandated by Homeland Security Presidential
Directive 12 (HSPD-12) to assist Federal Agencies in sourcing equipment and
supplies to produce more secure forms of identification to all U.S. Federal
Government employees and contractors. Other agencies as well as state and
local government organizations will be following the FIPS 201 standard to
implement their own improved ID card programs.
NASA, through one of its system integrators, will be installing 32
EDIsecure(TM) XID590ie Professional Retransfer ID Card Printers with Inline
Lamination Units and inline smart card encoders at 16 locations to work in
conjunction with their Lenel integrated security system. ‘System
integrators and government agencies worldwide have chosen EDIsecure(TM)
personalization systems to help create more secure ID cards’ said John

US office. ‘This 6-digit USD order proves that they rely on our expertise
and global experience to provide them with unique secure identification
