German Gref held the plenary session of the Forum 'Russia 2012'
February 2, 2012, Moscow - President, Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia German Gref was a moderator of the key plenary session of the Forum 'Russia 2012' - 'Russian economic policy in the days of global changes.'
Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin participated in work of the session. The session included speeches of Professor of Princeton University, Nobel-prize Winner in Economics Paul Krugman; Professor of Chicago University, President of the American Finance Association Rajan Raghuram; chairman of the Milken Institute Michael Milken.
Considering size of its economy and educational level of population Russia has perfect chances to create an International financial center in Moscow, - believes Rajan Raghuram. 'But I would like to point out to the fact that financial sector is a result of economic growth, but not its source. So far as diversification of Russian economy grows, the financial sector will speed up. Domination of financial sector in the economy is undesirable,' - added the speaker.
'Such meetings with investors encourage optimism, and more important - confidence, - noted German Gref. - We ourselves are the main competitor for us. I am sure that Russia has a gigantic potential, and if our country employs its unique possibilities, it may become a world leader.'
The Forum 'Russia 2012' is organized by Sberbank of Russia and its affiliate company 'Troyka Dialog'.
