MAXDATA records turnover of EUR 102.3 million in the first quarter of 2008 

Marl, 9 May 2008. The computer manufacturer MAXDATA AG (ISIN: DE0006581309;
WKN: 658 130) achieved a total turnover of EUR 102.3 million in the first
quarter of 2008 (previous year: EUR 114.9 million). The operating result
(EBIT) amounted to minus EUR 10.9 million after minus EUR 6.9 million in
the same period of the previous year. This decline is mostly attributable
to the intense price war in this segment, along with very weak market
conditions in the monitor area. 

Server system sales declined by 9.1 percent. Sales of flat screen monitors
were down by 11.0 percent. Notebook sales developed positively and
increased by 179.7 percent compared to the first quarter of 2007 while over
the same interval desktop sales rose by 3.0 percent.
