OnVista AG sells healthcare portal Onmeda -
Purchaser is auFeminin.com subsidiary goFeminin.de
20.06.2008 - Within the framework of concentrating on its core business,
OnVista AG (DE0005461602) sells another business unit. The Onmeda
healthcare portal, which forms part of OnVista Media GmbH, is being
purchased by Berlin-based goFeminin.de GmbH. The relevant contract was
signed today. The selling price for Onmeda amounts to EUR 5.4 million. The
sale is still subject to approval by the German antitrust authority. The
transaction results in a pre-tax book profit for OnVista AG in the region
of lower single digit millions.
goFeminin.de - the buyer of Onmeda - is part of the French company
auFeminin.com S.A., in which Axel Springer AG holds a majority stake.
auFeminin.com is Europe's leading online platform for the target group of
women.It offers a broad range of information, services and communities on
subjects like trends and fashion, beauty, fitness, healthcare and
psychology.
Onmeda is the second business unit to be sold by the OnVista Group as part
of its change in strategy announced in November 2007. The sales will effect
the profit and loss account of OnVista AG, since the business units sold
will in future no longer contribute to OnVista's sales and profits.
