On March 25, 2008, UBS AG Zürich, Schweiz has informed us according to §
21, para 1 WpHG that via shares its voting rights of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt,
Deutschland, have fallen below the threshold of 3% of the voting rights on
March 20, 2008 and on that day amount to 1.76% (this corresponds to 1137957
voting rights). 0.01% of these voting rights (corresponding to 7077 voting
rights) are attributed to UBS AG according to § 22 para 1 sentence 1 no.1
WpHG.
