Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) Evaluating Sites for Opcon Powerboxes in Queensland and Western Australia with Energy Developments
Perth-based clean power company Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) is reviewing, with Energy Developments Ltd, several of their sites for Enerji’s Opcon Powerboxes in Queensland and Western Australia. The assessments include greenfield and brownfield opportunities and cover new mine developments, mine expansions and retrofitting existing sites where energy efficiency improvements and fuel costs savings are being sought. The sites being evaluated include opportunities for single and multiple power box installations. Under the cooperative agreement announced on 31 October 2011 Enerji and Energy Developments Ltd are assessing the viability of waste heat recovery systems using the Opcon Powerbox at existing sites nominated by EDL and selected new sites. For each site that is commercially viable good faith negotiations for a supply agreement will occur. Enerji CEO Greg Pennefather said, “Enerji is very encouraged by the scope it sees for Opcon Powerboxes and by the fruitful working relationship with Energy Developments.” “Energy Developments is well known for delivering safe, innovative, reliable, secure power generation in remote communities throughout Australia. It has over 276MW remote area energy operations across 32 projects making it the largest independent remote power producer in Australia operating in the up to 100MW market.” Enerji has ordered six Opcon Powerboxes, the first of which has arrived and is being prepared for installation at Horizon Power’s Carnarvon power station this month. About Enerji Limited: Enerji Limited (ASX:ERJ) is an emerging Perth-based green power utility focussed on commercialising the Opcon Powerbox in Australia. The Opcon Powerbox cogeneration technology transforms waste heat into electricity and therefore creates significant energy cost and CO2 emissions savings for its customers. Enerji has exclusive sales and distribution rights for the Opcon Powerbox in Australia and options for Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Sub-Saharan Africa. The Opcon Powerbox, manufactured in Sweden by Opcon, represents a significant commercial opportunity through application to industrial, mining and power generation operations. Enerji plans to maximise this opportunity and generate shareholder returns through long-term power purchase agreements. Contact: Source: Enerji Limited Copyright (C) 2012 ABN Newswire.
